Once you've set up your project infrastructure following the recommended tools and structure, share these links with your new team members to get them onboarded smoothly. This template helps you organize all the essential links in one place so everyone knows where to find what they need.
# Links - [Your Project Name]
## Google Drive / Dropbox:
[Insert link here]
(Asset dump, game builds, organized docs (design, project, legal),
a central space for materials related to the game)
## Discord:
[Insert invite link here]
(Organized discussion with clean channels)
(Consider setting invite link with max uses or expiration based on your needs to prevent unwanted people from accidently joining the group if its meant to be private for the team only)
## Trello / Project Board:
[Insert link here]
(Todo, In Progress, Completed, Ideas - know what to do at any given time)
## OPTIONAL - GitHub / Code Repository:
[Insert link here if using]
(Programmer typically handles this)
(Can be public or private depending on your open-source strategy)
Use this template when sending the Google Drive folder link to new team members to explain the folder structure and permissions:
## Welcome [New Member]
This is the Google Drive folder for our [Project].
(Google Drive link goes here)
To have permission to upload/edit/remove files, you'll need a google account so I can add you as a member with access. Without this, I'd be forced to make the folder public, so that anyone on the internet with the link above could see our files if it gets leaked.
## Categories:
"Game Builds" folder for playable builds of the game itself.
"Assets Dump" for any images, sounds, models, writing, etc. that are intended to be included in the game.
"Docs Game Designs" will be the central location where I'll put game design instructions, game construction plans/roadmaps and other technical stuff that is too big to put into Trello. Its also the place for concept art.
"Docs Other" is more of the surrounding infrastructure of the revshare and mentality that we will work with, explaining a lot of things that will surround the game's business side of things.

Optional: You can make the project open source but still commercial. If you want to use the project to showcase your skills to find work or build a portfolio, this is a great option.
A clear, organized onboarding process makes new team members feel welcome and helps them get productive quickly. It shows professionalism and consideration, which builds trust and enthusiasm for the project from day one.
